Tatyana Palchuk

Biography

Tatyana Palchuk, born in 1954 in Riga, Latvia, is a New Renaissance artist based in her hometown of Riga. She specializes in oil on linen, and she is best known for her hyper-realistic paintings that celebrate classical music and the simplicity of still life, often depicting scenes of nature and musical motifs.

Palchuk’s work is characterized by its intricate attention to detail and vibrant realism, capturing the essence of her subjects with remarkable clarity. Her paintings frequently feature classical instruments, singing birds, dancing figures, and serene still lifes, evoking a rmonious interplay between music and nature. Among her significant projects is a renowned series dedicated to classical music instruments, which vividly portrays the timeless beauty and emotional depth of musical expression.

Palchuk has studied art at Rozentals Art School, Riga, Latvia in 1967-73. Among her teachers are notable figures such as Imants Vecozols, Pēteris Postažs, Boriss Bērziņš, Edgars Iltners and academic Eduards Kalniņš. She has been among the few who have done the Masters course with the Academic of USSR Academie of Arts Eduards Kalniņš. Tatjana is proud to have had the honour and uncommon luck to visit and grow artistically at the academic’s home, studio , and also meet Masters visit her at her small studio of only 12×2 meters in Elizabeth Street apartment. The experience and knowhow given by these art grandeurs has been invaluable and it has helped Tatyana to grow the one and brilliant art figure, which she has become.

Tatyana Palchuk’s artwork has been showcased in several notable exhibitions, including the Iecava Culture Hall and the Bauska Museum in Latvia, as well as the Rundale ulticultural Centrum. Her pieces are included in prestigious collections, such as “Stroll on the Oak Grove – Snowfall” and “Snow Fall (Sniegs)” at the Ravenel Auction House in Taiwan, and “Minuet (Mozart)” and “Still Life with Chinese Teapots” in Riga, Latvia. Palchuk continues to contribute to the cultural landscape with her evocative and meticulously crafted paintings.
